Kashi Dinner
Making Frozen Food into (somewhat) Fancier Frozen Food
The Place:
- My Apartment Sofa
The Entertainment:
- Movie: Sweet Home Alabama
The Food:
- Kashi Frozen Entrees “Chicken Florentine” (http://www.kashi.com/products/kashi_entrees_chicken_florentine) livened up with some caramelized mushrooms and added grated Parmesan Cheese on top.
The Drink:
- Folie a Deux Menage a Trois Red Wine 2008
The Verdict:
- The Kashi Frozen Meal was surprisingly colorful and filling (though still very salty) for a 290 calorie frozen food. The addition of caramelized mushrooms added depth to the meal, as did the grated cheese. Next time, I would add a little bit of sauteed spinach with garlic, as well.
- The Folie a Deux Table Red (blend of Zin, Merlot, and Cab) was a friend recommendation (and a great sale at Target!). Not as heavy as the similar Goats do Roam table wine. Definitely a stable addition to the meal with pleasing slightly fruity aroma and smooth texture. A new addition to my regular wine rotation!
