“Want some GREEN GOLF BALLS?” My best friend’s Dad used to ask when we were growing up.
“Ewww… No!” We’d respond, repulsed by the very idea.
Then. One day. I tried one. A Green Golf Ball.
And I learned…
Brussels Sprouts are TASTY!
But yeah, they do involve eating strange, weird, golf-ball shaped green vegetables. And they can be done badly.
But recently, courtesy of Whole Foods on Dale Mabry (tonight) and Ciccio’s California Cuisine (Saturday, review forthcoming), I have had me some good, green winter vegetables. No matter what the Florida temperature outside may be.
I also find that the Green Golf Ball hold up better with red wines, compared to most vegetables. Tonight, however, I paired the Whole Foods Brussels Sprouts with an accompanying portion of Butternut Squash Rissoto with a South African Indaba Chenin Blanc 2008. Delectable!
